Aims

This Basic Drawing Course is something of a crash course which John has developed in order to give both newcomers to draughtsmanship and those who are very out of practice the basic visual skills, understandings and confidence which make participation in any life class a pleasure rather than an ordeal.

Anatomical references will be used when necessary but will be kept to a minimum. Through a series of exercises John will provide the visual tools for line and tracking during the morning with form and perspective in the afternoon, and guidance on composition throughout the day.

Objectives

To put the student in control of their own work by understanding the concepts involved. At no time will John draw on anyone's work or exhibit it to others.
